yeah!! great weather made for a great run!!!
wahoo!!! what a great day today!!!! the weather was AMAZING!!!! i spent most of the afternoon outside and enjoyed the awesome fall weather!!! first i took the dogs for a nice little walk and then i went for a run....wahoo, first REAL run in a LONG LONG while and it felt great!!!! After my run i worked in the yard and did some other things in the garage and the boys hung out with me while i was outside!!! i also got to have a great day meeting my neighbors' 1 week old baby girl, Addison Mae...she is beautiful!! then i played with the Kelley's and their two sets of twin girls!!! all and all a great active day outside!!! 5 High Fives for the workout today!!! Looking forward to tomorrow...plan is to hit the gym for the first time since..oh I think maybe May!!! wish me luck!!!

ugh..no wine or workouts for me lately
just a quick little post to complain about NOT getting any workouts OR Wine in!! I'm really just taking a study break or procrastinating from further studying for my boards which I take in T minus 31.5 hours!!! UGH!!! Well I should hopefully be able to post something about wine after my test since I plan on having some with my momma and sister!!! and then hopefully a workout on Friday!! ok guess i better go study...ugh!!!

Getting Back on Track...well at least trying too!!
Ok so today I had a goal of starting to get back on track with eating right and working out!! So my initial plan (that I set at about 1 am this morning as I was crawling into bed from a crazy day at work) was to get up around 9 am, weigh myself (UGH!! DREAD!!) and take measurements and record these, then take the dogs for a walk, do Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Level One workout and then run on the treadmill for 10-15 min...well after a night of not sleeping well (not an unusual occurrence unfortunately) I of course hit "snooze" a few too many times so I woke up around 10 instead of 9 and therefore didn't have enough time to do all 3 things I had planned, so I did the Jillian Michaels workout...which felt GREAT, and I can already feel I'm going to be a little sore tomorrow...and I burned 150 calories in just 20 minutes, so that's nice, but because I had a goal to do some other activities I can only give my workout a rating of 3.5 High Fives.
As far as the other part...getting back to eating right..I went to Kroger last night after work..since I was brain dead from work I wandered around at midnight trying to get some "clean eating" essentials like fruits and veggies and chicken and my fav..ALMOND BUTTER!!! I did pretty good with the eating even though it was a really crazy day in the ER, even more crazy then yesterday I think!! I didn't even give in to the evil chocolate chip cookies at work :) ...but I did give into a small handful of Peanut Butter M&Ms :( ..I mean seriously, who can resist those...especially after dealing with as much stupid drama as I did today!!! So other than the PB Miees and 2 Diet Cokes I think I did ok!!! My goal is no more diet coke in 2 weeks, I've done it before, just gotta break the habit again!!!
Now I'm wasting time at work blogging while I and should be doing charts but am too brain dead...so I'm going to go home...and maybe have a glass of wine!! :) I know that doesn't help with the diet, but again...too much drama for one day...I really need something to chill me out before bed!! Nighty Nite!!!

It may not have been a "normal" workout...but it was fun!!
Ok...so today I feel like I had a great workout!!! Granted it wasn't what most people would consider a "normal" workout in the sense that I went to the gym and lifted weights...or put on my running shoes and went for a nice run...but I definitely got a pretty good workout in today trying to keep up with Nik, my 5 year old nephew!!!
I took him to his first Aggie Football game today and Jacob and Shannon (my bro and future sister-in-law) took Nik to the Kid Zone where he got to run, and jump, and race, and play his little heart out!!! Then we took him to Kid's Yell Practice and watched the Band and Aggie Football Players march in!!! Then it was off to Kyle Field for the game!!! So this is where the REAL workout started!!! Nik thought it would be "FUN" to RACE up the ramps of Kyle Field to get to our seats...which by the way are on the 3rd deck of Kyle..so that was a great butt and quad workout!! then we got to walk up to the 25th row to get to our seats...again nice for the quads!!!! So during the game I made a few trips up and down the stairs which helped get the quads burning a little more too!!! After the game it was time to take Nik down to the field to play!!! Unfortunately we didn't have a football to throw around so Nik decided he wanted to play TAG...on the football field...so that meant lots of sprinting for Sissy!!! All in all it was a great night and a really fun way to burn some calories!!! Can't wait to take Nik to another game!!! I'm pretty sure he had a blast too so that makes it all the more better!!!
Oh yeah..so my rating would be 5 High Fives!!!

My First Blog!!!
Ok...so this is my first blog!! Wahoo!!! I don't know how interesting, or exciting this blog is going to be..and I probably won't update daily..maybe not even weekly but let's just see how this goes!!! I am hoping this will serve as a little inspiration to get moving again and start running...after all I have plans to run the San Antonio Rock 'N Roll Half Marathon in November (it'll be my 3rd half marathon) and then in February the Austin LOVE Full Marathon!! So I better start running!!! This may end up just being another way for me to chill and veg on my days off..or do what I'm REALLY good at...procrastinating!! :)
Anyways..in the spirit of this blog being about working out and wine...although I've been lazy today and NOT worked out..yet again...I can at least talk a little about wine!! I have discovered a new white wine that I really like!!! Last night I had a couple of friends over after work...granted it was not probably "normal" after work hours..but we work crazy hours, so it works!! But AR and HP came over for some wine, chocolate, and gossip!!! We had a total blast!! So the wine we tried and all LOVED is called Seven Daughters...it's a blend of 7 different grapes..it's a white wine and has the most AMAZING aroma and a good taste!! so I definitely give it two thumbs up
...hum I guess I could come up with a fun way to rate wine and my workouts for this blog...let's see for the wine let's do Cheers and for workouts lets do High Fives and I'll do it on a scale of 1-5..1 being "nasty taste" and "UGH crappy workout" and 5 being "oh my gosh this tastes amazing" and "WOW I feel awesome from my workout"
alright so I guess that's enough rambling for my first blog!! That was fun!! Maybe I'll get a workout in later and then I can blog about it..but I have a feeling I'm going to continue being lazy!! :)
Oh and so for my first wine rating: Seven Daughters gets 5 cheers!!!
